The Dedication of Two Victoria Cross Stones
for Charles Robertson V.C. M.M. and Theodore Bayley Hardy V.C D.S.O M.C.

In 1918, two men connected with Bentham received the Victoria Cross for their gallantry during battle in the First World War.
One hundred years later, Bentham dedicated two stones on School Hill to commemorate the actions of these two men on April 21st
making Bentham unique in the Craven district to be honouring two recipients of the VC in their community .
The Victoria Cross is the highest and most prestigious medal that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth Forces personnel.
