Car sharing is now permitted, with mask wearing and open windows. We will discuss this before the July walks. For now, all walks still start at 9.30am from the start of the walk,
apart from the first with Colin and Alison starting from Leck Church Car Park(honesty box), at 13.30 on Tuesday 1st June. We walk down to Leck Beck and along it to cross the A65 and on to Tunstall Church via a minor lane and field paths. From there we walk down to the edge of Cantsfield. The return is via Longriggs Barn and Laithbutts, proceeding from tracks and field paths to a minor road, going under an old railway bridge, crossing the A65 by Hipping Hall to reach our cars. 6.5 miles.

Another Tuesday walk on the 8th of June, an 8.5 mile circular with an ascent of approx 1100ft, parking at Tewitfield Marina/Longlands Hotel and led by Jim Shuttleworth 07767644654. Starting north along the canal towpath we pass 4 former locks. Using the underpass under the M6, we then go over the WCML railway, and cross the A6. A lane passes Dyke House and emerges onto the B road, through a stile and Yealand Manor parkland. Back onto main road, we cross and take the wicket gate into the field path, passing an old lime kiln, again onto a road. We turn left for 200m and then take the occupation track on the right. This gains height all the way into Warton Crag nature reserve up to the trig point and beacon. The descent is along the fenced path above the former quarry and into Warton village. Walking left along the Main Street, Borwick Lane is met on the right and followed for 650m. A track on the right takes us under the railway and back to the A6. We cross over and take the path around Pine Lake resort perimeter, eventually crossing the road and following the path to Capernwray. From here the canal is followed back to the start. It is possible to make this walk approx 2.5 miles shorter, and heavy rain could mean an extra detour of a mile.

On Thursday 17th of June Garth Dales 61136 will lead a 7.5 mile walk in Kingsdale, full details to be confirmed. Meeting is at the end of the right hand track which leads the Waterfall Walk which has limited parking, but there is a layby before this. The walk is probably from the road, up to the Turbury Road track and along by all the pot holes. Eventually we climb down to Yordas Cave(torch useful) by the road, and return through the fields and the farm on the other side of the valley.

Robert Baines has a 7 mile walk on Friday 25th of June from the free car park behind Alherns in Hellifield. We cross the A65, go up Haw Lane past Goal Laithe to Hull House, passing Wenningber Hill towards Otterburn. Turning left up Dacre Lane to Hellifield Moor Top, we then go down to Scalehaw Hill, along New House Lane to Little Newton, and back to Hellifield.

Please note the first July walk on Thursday 1st, Colin and Alison leading a 5 mile circular, Whittington from Kirkby.
