The Bentham Walking Group have restarted their walks:

.Bentham Footpath Group has started walking again, but not in the same way as previously. The committee tried out the first walk, a local walk, then four of them led a group each of five others, setting off at different times as the Ramblers were doing. The new refined idea is to have groups of six, all meeting in pre-arranged groups, keeping apart from each other, with no inter-mixing of groups, and social distancing with-in each group. The leader will set off with the first group, and the other groups will set off about 20 metres behind the group in front of them. It should be easy to follow the route by keeping the group ahead in view, and avoids the need for a leader for each group. Each walk will have limited numbers, so booking for walks in advance is vital. This is through Alison Kinder, preferably by e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. For those without e-mail a message can be left on her mobile 07518210316, but please note this is not the phone number in the old walks programmes. The starting point for each walk will vary and will not often be from Lairgill as previously, because car sharing is not encouraged..

The first September walk is on Sunday 6th September and starts from the car park at Wray Tea Rooms at 9.30am. It is a short walk of 4 miles to Hornby and back.

On Thursday 10th, starting from Lairgill at 9.30am, we walk to Burton Bridge then to Low Bentham via Clifford Hall and back along the river. 7 miles.

A 7 mile circular from Eldroth Village Hall (voluntary contribution) starts at 9.30am on Wednesday 16th. Passing through farmsteads, fields, and woods, there should be good views across to the north. If there has been a lot of rain, it could be a bit boggy in places.

A £7 fee including parking, payable by contactless card is needed for the Ingleton Waterfalls Walk on Tuesday 22nd at 9.30am. This will be an interesting geological walk.
